If you walk into studios, you’re leaving the polish of the city for a world of grit, sparks, and heavy lifting. It’s located in a converted 19th-century fire station, and it still has that “emergency energy”—people are there to solve problems and build things that are physically demanding.
Venues Spotlight
For me, as a maker of sculptural furniture, FSAS isn’t just a studio; it’s a high-spec factory you can rent by the week. Fully equipped metalwork and woodwork bays, plus specialized ceramic kilns. You can book a 300sqm sculpture bay for 1 to 12 weeks (€65/week).
Residency Focus
Smaller, private workspaces for more detailed or delicate assembly and highly subsidized live/work studios where artists can stay for 1–3 years (via a very competitive open call).
