Lexicon Library

The Lexicon library in Dún Laoghaire is where the coastal horizon meets serious, modern architecture. If you were standing there right now, you would feel the sheer volume of the place—it’s a massive, airy concrete shell that somehow feels warm rather than cold.

Lexicon Library Guide

You’re in a “living room” for the city. The ceilings are soaring, supported by heavy pre-cast concrete beams, but the vastness is broken up by the scent and texture of European oak used for the shelving and acoustics.

Dublin’s Art Venues

It’s a sophisticated mix of industrial and organic: grey granite, exposed concrete, bronze window frames, and that dominant, honey-colored oak. The LexIcon is a masterclass in combining heavy materials with elegant lines, which is exactly the playground my sculptural furniture lives in.

In the prototyping phase, I might use the 3D tech to print small-scale versions of my furniture to test the “sculptural” balance before committing to a full-scale build or a heavy pour at the other Artistic venues.
